Best Small Vacuum For The Home

March 22, 2014
Hair, dirt, food, dust, our houses grow dirty quickly and as every good housekeeper knows, staying on top of the grime is important in keeping a happy and healthy home. Kids, pets, your absent minded husband and the chaos of everyday life make this job difficult. A good housekeeper also knows that the proper tools are necessary to keeping a clean house. The vacuum, one of my favorite inventions, is one of these necessary tools.

The market is full of vacuums but what is the best one out there. I personally need something small. I move it around a lot and I need to be able to take it to my office and meditation center to clean. I also want something small enough that the kids can help with household cleaning. It is never too early to start pitching in.

I started my search and after hunting high and low for the best small vacuum cleaner on the market and this is what I found: The Electrolux Sanitaire Might Mite SC3683. This guy may be small but he is mighty and sure the beat those dust mite and allergens. This canister vacuum cleaner is of commercial grade but great for homeowners as well. Fortunately, it is priced for homeowners too. This vacuum a mega dust fighting ninja runs quiet like a ninja too reaching only 71dB.

The Sanitaire packs a lot of power while remaining light and easy to move at only 10 pounds. It is east to store and easy to transport. Although small it is versatile. It comes with cleaning tools to reach those difficult areas. The tools include: a metal telescope wand, dust brush, crevice tool, and a 10 in deluxe horse hair floor and wall brush. The 7 foot hose provides plenty of room to reach without getting tangled up in tubing.

The canister vacuum uses disposable HEPA filters which filter out 99% of allergens. With so many people suffering from allergies this vacuum really helps to cut down on particles in your home. Disposable filters have been proven to be better at removing and trapping allergens from the air. The Sanitaire keep the air in your house light and fresh.

I have two cats and a dog and they shed a ton. I have always had a hard time finding a vacuum to effectively pick up all that hair. Even many of the vacuums on the market designed for pet hair just don’t do the trick. The Sanitaire though is powerful enough to lift that difficult pet hair while being gentle enough to not damage your carpets.

I love the variety of surfaces I can use this little guy on. I can use it clean my furniture, hard wood floors, tile floors, and all my carpets. It cleans every surface just as sufficiently and the horse hair attachment is excellent for cleaning the ceilings.

The Electrolux Sanitaire Mighty Mite SC3683 can be purchased most cheaply online. Ebay and Amazon are great sources. I am sure it is just as easy to find in a good appliance store which is where I found mine. My mother actually told me about his vacuum and I kind of disregarded her advice. But after research and trial and error, I found that the Sanitaire is a tried and true dust fighting solution.
